Are you obsessed with genealogy? Join others like yourself after hours at the Loutit District Library, Friday, Oct. 26 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in Program Room A.
The genealogy department and public computing will be open for research and copies will be free all evening.
There will also be several presentations:
- Justin Roebuck will talk about the records available at the Ottawa County Clerk’s office and Register of Deeds.
- Jeanette Weiden will discuss the exciting world of genealogy DNA. She will cover the range of options from the pros and cons for companies to what to expect when you get your results.
- Linda Namenye will present the steps needed to turn your genealogical research into a treasured book. Data, old photos, land charts, and intriguing stories combine to make your family’s history more fascinating than just a report.
Also, learn about writing your family history and genealogy DNA. Dinner will be included. Register in person at the genealogy department. Cost is $15. Registration required. Space is limited.
