The summer traffic may be slowing down around town, but Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is looking forward to a busy fall and winter. The Resort is pleased to announce a special job fair on Wednesday, September 19, to find qualified local candidates to fill positions in departments such as culinary service, housekeeping, retail, and reservations.
“Fall is no longer a quiet season around here,” said Matthew McClellan, Director of Human Resources. “Traverse City has become a year-round destination, and hundreds of guests are visiting the Resort every week. We want to provide the best possible guest experience, which means we’re ready to expand our team.”
The September 19 job fair will give prospective employees a chance to meet one-on-one with human resources personnel, fill out applications, and take a tour of the Resort. McClellan said he hopes to fill nearly 100 positions (hourly and salaried).
“There’s so much opportunity here at the Resort,” he said. “Our goal is to create careers that last. We have employees who have been with us for ten, twenty, or thirty years. Some have been here since the Resort first opened its doors in 1980. That’s unheard of in the hospitality industry.”
All employees are eligible for discounts on Resort amenities, access to the fitness center, and employee committees and leadership opportunities. Full-time employees are eligible for health coverage, tuition reimbursement, on-site licensed daycare, and other benefits.
The job fair will be held in the lobby of Grand Traverse Resort and Spa from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19.
