Fourth of July/Muskegon

  • Stop by Muskegon for days worth of Fourth of July fun! The area’s Fourth of July celebration is July 3rd and 4th, featuring lots of great food, craft beers, live music, and more!
  • Later in the evening, board the USS LST 393 Veterans Museum for the best seat in the house and enjoy the awesome fireworks display over Muskegon Lake.
  • Don’t forget to come back on Friday, July 6th for Michigan’s number one art show, the Lakeshore Art Festival.

Independence Day Fireworks Downtown: Saturday, July 7th

  • This Fourth of July, The jdek at JW Marriott and The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck patio will feature live music, celebratory cocktails, buffet-style BBQ and prime location for viewing the Amway Family Fireworks over the Grand River.
  • Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and fireworks are scheduled for approximately 10:15 p.m.
  • Guests at The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck will receive one complimentary welcome drink, patriotic swag and enjoy tastings and giveaways courtesy of Perrin Brewing Company and music by DJ Composition.
  • For rooftop views 27 stories high, guests can mingle at Cygnus27’s bar and lounge for a $10 cover charge or enjoy a decadent five course tasting menu for $95 per person: Corvina Ceviche, Duck & Fennel, Asparagus Tortelloni, Filet of Beef Tenderloin or Whole Roasted Trout, Duet of Chocolate & Lemon. Krasl Art Fair

  • Friday – Sunday, July 13-15, will mark 57 years of Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff.
  • This world-class event brings together hundreds of artists and thousands of people in Southwest Michigan at the gateway to downtown St. Joseph, Michigan.
  • Experience the talent of 200 artists from across the United States while enjoying the view and breezes of Lake Michigan and the charm and hospitality of St. Joseph, Michigan.
  • Enjoy beer and wine, food trucks and entertainment at the Block Party on Friday. Meet the exhibiting artists and mingle with the community as we celebrate the 57th Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff weekend.  Artist booths open Saturday morning, 10:00 am

Talons Out Honor Flight “Cruise In Night”

  • Saturday, July 28th

  • The Inaugural Talons Out Honor Flight Night to Honor all Veterans and Military Service Men & Women.
  • Raising funds to give to Talons Out to pay for the Honors Flight to Washington DC: The Veterans are flown, free of charge, to Washington DC and given a full escort to National Memorials throughout the day. Then they return home with a full Military Honor Welcoming that evening in Kalamazoo. Flights scheduled for September & October this year;
  • This will be a special event honoring all Armed Service members and Veterans.  ALL Veterans that attend the Talons Out Honor Flight Fundraiser on July 28th will receive a FREE meal courtesy of Denso Manufacturing.
  • Donations for Talons Out Honor Flight will be taken at the door, 50/50 drawings throughout the event, and a silent auction will be held at 8:00 pm. All monies raised during this event will be given to Talons Out Organization of Southwest Michigan

Michigan Governor’s Summer Residence Tours

  • Explore the Governor’s Summer Residence on Mackinac Island each Wednesday from June 6 to August 29. Built in 1902 as a private summer cottage by Lawrence A. Young, it has served as the Governor’s summer Residence since 1945.
  • The residence was listed in the Michigan Register of Historic Places in October 1975. In November 1997, the house was named to the National Register of Historic Places, the official list of America’s most historic buildings and sites.
  • Throughout the tour, which lasts approximately 15 minutes, experienced docents will guide small groups through the first floor of the home. Tours are free.
