Action Wake Park, Michigan’s first and only cable wakeboard facility, was honored with the Wake Park of the Year award at the 2018 Water Sports Industry Association (WSIA) Summit.
The award was given to the wake park who had the biggest and best community outreach programs and did the most to grow water sports in their area. Action Wake Park partners with organizations such as Gone Boarding, Above the Wake, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and many more.
“When we first heard about Action Wake Park opening in Michigan, we knew it was going to be special,” said Kevin Michael, Executive Director, WSIA. “We’re extremely impressed with the impact they’ve had on the community by partnering with organizations and schools to grow water sports in Michigan.”
The award recognized wake park facilities from around the world. Other wake parks nominated were Shark Wake Park in South Carolina, Thai Wake Park in Thailand, Valdosta Wake Park in Georgia, and Next Level Ride in Texas.
Opening day for the 2018 season is scheduled for May 12 from 12-8pm. Liquid Force Field Day will be on Saturday, June 9 in which the community can ride at Action Wake Park free of charge.
