A romantic Valentine’s Day getaway with your significant other, or maybe a wine tour around Traverse City’s spectacular vineyards. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the Northern Michigan winter with a loved one this season. Courtney Sheffer with the West Michigan Tourist Association is here for a look at what’s to come.

The Petoskey Area is perfect for a Valentine’s Day getaway. Trout Creek Condominiums in Harbor Springs is offering a pre-Valentine’s weekend special, which includes a gift card to the Harbor Springs Lyric Theatre, chocolate and a lodging discount from Feb. 9-11.

In Bay Harbor, the Bay Harbor Village Hotel celebrates Valentine’s Day with a romantic getaway. Treat your sweetheart to champagne and chocolate truffles in a luxurious room adorned with rose petals.

On Saturday, Feb. 17, the Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant in Petoskey is serving a special menu created by their chef, and you can always stop by Kilwins Chocolate Kitchen in Petoskey to pick up a sweet treat.

The Traverse City area is a wine lover’s paradise.

Embark on an adventure of snow-covered vineyards and sweet and savory bites paired with superb wine varieties with the Taste the Passion event on Feb. 10 and 11 along the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail.

Visit the Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula for their Romancing the Riesling event on Feb. 17, and celebrate the wine that put Traverse City on the wine country map. Wineries will showcase Rieslings and food pairings, and will offer special deals on Riesling varieties.
