It is that time of year again and the Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Michigan Gas, Consumers Energy, and the Coldwater Country Conference & Visitors Bureau will be this year’s major sponsors for the annual Icefest. IceFest will take place in Downtown Coldwater, MI on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Events will take place from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Activities will include pirate-themed ice sculptures, live carvings, soup cook off, hot cocoa warming stations, live music, and a pub crawl. Pick away the cabin fever with this family friendly event.
IceFest will feature 28 blocks of carved ice sculptures inspired by pirates from the four corners of the earth and will be on display in downtown Coldwater. Accompanying the displayed will be 3 live ice carving created by Master Carver Scott Miller of Miller Ice Sculptures of Lansing, MI. Live carvings take place at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM in Four Corners Park.
Step out of the cold and take part in the Soup and Chili Cook Off until 3:30 PM. For $5 participants will taste 10 original soups and cast their vote for the “People’s Choice” winner. Warm up with red hot sales and specials in Coldwater’s local downtown shops. Many retailers will be serving hot cocoa and coffee warming stations.
A Charity Pub Crawl kicks off at 4:00 PM with registration at the Broadway Grille, on 19 S Monroe Street starting at 3:00 PM. The pub crawl will be following the pirate theme and consist of 6 stops featuring drink, food specials, giveaways and activities.
Bringing the day to an end will be Best of the Eagles, The Eagles Tribute Band beginning at 7:00 PM at the Tibbits Opera House. Tickets are available through Tibbits with prices ranging from $19.00 to $26.00 with Orchestra, Lower Balcony, and Balcony seating available. The Best of the Eagles musicians originate from central New Jersey and are deemed one of the premiere tribute performers.
