Camp Daggett Offers Great Adventure Education Training Opportunity

Camp Daggett’s Adventure Center is offering an adventure education/challenge course training workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 7-8, 2017. This is an all-day workshop that begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m. each day. This workshop is designed to give the participant hands-on experience in adventure education and the utilization of a challenge ropes course. Educators, youth leaders, scout leaders or anyone working with young people will find this workshop useful, as they will leave with ideas and concrete activities that can be utilized in their work environment with minimal props or expense.

Additionally, this workshop will cover the core characteristics and philosophy of an adventure education program, building trust within a group, presenting and processing group initiatives, safety standards, proper care and use of technical equipment, belay techniques on a high ropes course and implementing adventure/experiential activities into curriculum and/or existing programs. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will have a basic knowledge of, and experience with, an experiential challenge course program.

Cost is $200 per participant and includes all instruction, program materials, safety manual, use of equipment and lunch. A $50 deposit is required to reserve a spot and the workshop is limited to 15 participants. You must be 21 to attend.
