Free Hayrides During Urban HayDay in Downtown Hudsonville

Urban HayDay just stepped up their festival level with new event components and increased kid’s activities.

Todd Wenzel’s annual FREE fall festival, Urban HayDay, is Saturday, October 21 from 11am to 4pm at both Gemmens Home and Hardware and Terra Square (connected by hayrides).

Animals from the critter barn and horses from the pony rides will greet you when you jump off your hayride at Gemmens. There will be goats, lambs, and bunnies relaxing in the grass, so make sure to say hi.

Follow the aroma of cider and donuts (while supplies last) leading you toward the remote control car track and the neon orange pumpkin racing track. Watch the competition or bring your own racer to collide with the others fighting for first place (times found at www.urbanhayday.com). For those who rather leave the pumpkin racing to someone else, make sure to check out the annual Great Garden Games. Compete in vegetable themed minute to win it games such as a celery obstacle course or onion bowling.

Leave the mess with us as your family participates in the annual pumpkin carving organized by Gemmens. Pumpkins are only one dollar!

When it’s time to go to the Farmers Co-op end dance to live music while you vote on your favorite tractor. Smell the burgers grilling, pulled pork on the smoker, and your breakfast burritos cooking as you enter the food truck rally. We have five food trucks excited to cook up delicious lunch or dinner for you and your family. Play yard games as you’re waiting or enjoy the live bands performing.

For those who loved the farmers market this year, our vendors will be back! Shop squash, pumpkins, baked goods, and coffee from our seasonal vendors.

Remember to stop in on October 21 from 11am to 4pm to celebrate the fall season with the Hudsonville community sponsored by Todd Wenzel, in partnership with the City of Hudsonville and the Hudsonville Area Chamber of Commerce. There will be activities the entire family will enjoy.

Details and information are found at www.UrbanHayday.com. Follow us on Facebook at Hudsonville Area Chamber of Commerce to receive the inside scoop or contact Lindsey Carlon at lcarlon@hudsonville.org if you have questions or would like to get involved. We will see you at Urban Hay Day!
