In this fun art workshop at the Loutit District Library, teens and adults are invited to join Michigan Handcraft Artist and Art Educator Jane Alkon on Saturday, September 30 to explore the amazing art of Israeli artist Yaacov Agam.
Agam is a pioneer of the kinetic art movement. Best known for creating colorful and exciting optical art, his works are modern and contemporary in design and considered “interactive” as they appear to move and change depending on how they are viewed.
Alkon will show how to create a 3D modern art piece, based upon the inspiration of Agam. Attendees will create a fabulous Plexiglas hanging sculpture with their own creative vision. When finished, everyone’s professional looking piece of art will be suitable for hanging at home. All supplies necessary to complete the project are included.
This free workshop runs from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m.in LDL’s Program Room A. To register, visit http://loutitlibrary.org/calendar. For more information, visit http://loutitlibrary.org or call 616-842-5560, ext. 216.
