Tibbits steps back in time to an era now forgotten, one full of gambling cowboys, cattle drives, saloons, dance hall girls, the Gold Rush, and the wild new frontier. Head over yonder to Tibbits Opera House on Saturday, November 4, 2017 for “Tibbits Olde West” 38th Annual Auction, which starts at 6 pm.
Tibbits’ auction volunteers are gathering donations of items, services, or cash to help kick off the annual event. Items needed for the trip west include getaway packages, tickets, parties and dinners, memberships, professional services, electronics, gift baskets, fine jewelry, home decor, garden tools, equipment, and arts and craft items. Cash donations will be broken into four categories: Lucky Horseshoes: up to $99; Silver Stars: $100+; Blazing Saddles: $300+; and Golden Spurs: $600+.
Over the years, Tibbits’ auction has become a popular event with unique themes. Attendees can dress for the theme or simply enjoy the costumes of the staff and volunteers. Heavy hors’ d’oeuvres that compliment the Olde West theme will be provided by Tasteful Kreations.
Tibbits Special Events Coordinator, Amy Crabtree says “Tibbits’ annual auction is an event that many patrons and community members look forward to. It’s an event that people can socialize at, bid on nice items, and enjoy themselves while supporting our community’s historic theatre.”
The event is held at the historic Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater, MI. The silent auction will be held in the lower level art gallery starting at 6 pm and the live auction on stage begins at 8 pm. This year’s event also features a $1,000 cash raffle, sponsored by Great Lakes Chiropractic. Guests will have their chance at 50/50 tickets, engraved souvenir wine glasses, a photo booth, and fantastic selection of silent and live auction items. There will also be a wine pull and donations of wine are needed.
To donate to the Tibbits Annual Auction, drop your items off Monday through Friday 9-5 at the Tibbits administrative office, 93 W. Chicago Street, Coldwater, or call Amy at 517.278.6029 to arrange for a volunteer to pick up your donation. All donations are needed by Oct. 20.
