Swords Will Clash When Ring of Steel Comes to Tibbits!

The Ring of Steel Action Theatre and Stunt Troupe demonstrates the art of theatrical combat staging at Tibbits as part of Popcorn Theatre July 28th & 29th at 10am.

One of the largest theatrical fencing salles in the nation, The Ring of Steel teaches classes in swordplay and stunt work along with 15 other combat skills and techniques. The group provides in-house workshops in film, stage, and TV fight choreography. In addition to offering summer camps and programs, Ring of Steel maintains an aggressive performance schedule at renaissance festivals, Celtic fairs, Sci-Fi/fantasy conventions, haunted houses, operas, birthdays, weddings, business parties, and many other events and productions.

Established in 1989, Ring of Steel is an educational organization dedicated to developing and promoting the art of stunt work and refining the portrayal of staged violence. They feel the skills necessary for theatrical combat compose a martial art unto themselves and require regular practice of basic skills and techniques for safety and effectiveness.

This high-energy show appeals to kids and adults alike, and patrons will be treated to free popcorn and juice at intermission. The popcorn is donated by Ed Lake. The juice is donated by McDonald’s-The Maynard Organization. Popcorn Theatre is made possible through the generosity of Dr. Jon and Seibra Herbener with additional support by the Tibbits Endowment for Children’s Programming.
