First Friday Art Hop in Downtown Grand Haven

  • Downtown Grand Haven comes alive with local artists and musicians displaying their talents in more than 6 locally owned businesses. Start your evening at C2C Gallery, where you can view art, listen to live music; plus mingle and meet some of the artists.
  • We have a special Artist Talk presented by Mark Mehaffey and Mark Chatterley at 7:30 pm along with Featured Artist, Cindy Bender, Michigan Watercolor Painter.
  • Live Music will be provided by Nick Kraus & Miss Kathleen. They offer an acoustic blend of alt-country, rock, blues, Jazz and folk.

Walking Tours of Downtown Kalamazoo Breweries

  • Join West Michigan Beer Tours for a walking tour of downtown Kalamazoo and its 8 breweries. You’ll learn about Michigan’s craft beer history and Kalamazoo’s place in its rebirth.
  • Guests will also have the opportunity for production tours and meet-and-greets at breweries, when available. In addition to samples or a pint at each brewery, guests will also receive a goody bag that includes a stainless steel pint. Tour dates have unique origination locations and brewery stops.   • Registration will be at noon.  Departure at 1 p.m. Tours officially conclude at approximately 4 p.m. The cost is $29 per person for the first 10 guests and $35 in advance for additional guests. It is $40 for guests purchasing tickets the day of the tour.
  • Tours will run rain or shine. Unless West Michigan Beer Tours cancels the tour, all tours are non-refundable.

Virtue Cider Spring Farm Tour and Workshop: Agricultural Ecosystems

  • At Virtue Cider, we make our craft cider in cider houses that sit on a working farm. Learn how our plants and animals work together in our permaculture setting, and enjoy our ciders at our Spring Farm Tours and Workshops: April 14
  • Friday, April 14, 4-6:30pm EDT – Agricultural Ecosystems – Full farm tour and talk with Virtue Agricultural Director Ryan Beck and shepherd Johanna Bystrom who will focus on the benefits of raising healthy animals, to feed soil that will grow better healthier plants. Taste from our Orchard Series ciders, talk about farm life cycle, and hug a baby sheep (born just days ago!).

  • Workshops begin at 4pm EDT and will run until 6:30pm EST. Cost is $25 per guest and includes a in-depth tour of the farm at Virtue Cider, full workshop (as detailed above) and finish up with tastings from our Orchard Series ciders featuring fruit from our orchard neighbors and partners, as well as our own.

Easter in Grand Rapids Area

  • Locally made chocolate & confections: Chocolates by Grimaldi, a Grand Haven-based chocolate factory, is offering personalized artisan eggs just in time for Easter. Customers can call in or stop by Chocolates by Grimaldi to order their custom designed eggs. Select a solid 14 ounce egg in milk, white, or dark chocolate and have your loved one’s name hand-written in chocolate. Beautifully packaged in an Easter-themed box, the eggs are ready for gifting. They can also be shipped anywhere nationwide.
  • Kids Easter Fun: Kids of all ages are invited for a ride through Coopersville with the Coopersville & Marne Railway‘s Bunny Train on April 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th and 15th. This 90 minute romp through the springtime countryside is sure to delight, and includes appearances by the Easter Bunny and their cast of wacky, musical characters. The Railway’s Springtime Princess, Miss Coopersville, also spends time reading children’s books in each passenger car. Towards the end of the journey, the Easter Bunny and friends pass through the train cars with baskets laden with toys. Each child gets to pick one for their very own to take home. Make sure you and your family catch this train to celebrate Easter!
  • Kids Easter Fun: Visit Robinette’s Apple Haus and Winery in Grand Rapids on Saturday, April 15th for their Spring Heirloom Hop! Try their newest hard cider, Heirloom, which is made only from heirloom-variety apples. Robinette’s planted antique variety apple trees to make this newest offering. Cost is $5 for adults (21+) and includes wine tasting (including the new Heirloom Hard Cider), souvenir wine glass, and an Easter Egg with a prize! Kids can attend for free, and will love the Easter Egg Hunt and meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny!
