Shanahan’s Barn at Charlevoix Country Club is excited to announce the addition of permanent indoor restrooms to its event venue. Begun just last week, construction is progressing swiftly. The restrooms, whose interior design will be in keeping with the historic barn, are planned to be completed by Memorial Day weekend in time for the start of a busy Wedding season.
The barn was built in 1909 and served as a dairy farm for many years. Built for Mr. Edward Waller in 1909, it had just 2 subsequent owners before becoming the Charlevoix Country Club. The venue is named for Edward Shanahan who owned the property longest. It was lovingly restored by current owner Fred Taylor using traditional craftsmanship methods utilizing barn wood and corrugated metal sourced from other area barns.
Shanahan’s Barn, which opened as an event venue in the summer of 2014, has quickly become one of the largest, most unique and in demand Wedding and Event venues in northern Michigan. For information: shanahansbarn.com or call 231-547-9796.
