Crystal Mountain is tapping into to some of the spring excitement enjoyed by resorts out west with four themed weekends in the month of March featuring live outdoor entertainment and fun on-hill competitions and events.
As backyards across much of the Midwest begin to show signs of spring in March it’s traditionally a much different story up north as six to seven feet of packed base holds strong for skiing and snowboarding into April. Crystal Mountain plans to soak up the sun and bluebird skies with a month-long celebration featuring bands, food and drink right at the base of the slopes and fun events like the Cardboard Classic, Kayak Races and the Get Down! Fat Tire Bike Challenge on the mountain.
Spring Carnival, March 10th & 11th
The weekend kicks off with a 6-for-$60 Friday lift ticket special followed by the Cardboard Classic, Slush Cup and after-party on the slopeside stage with music of Brena.
Celts & Kayaks, March 17th & 18th
St. Patrick’s Day weekend features plenty of Irish fare, Celtic dancers, family fun activities like the Shamrock Search with the popular Downhill Kayak Races and second round of the Slush Cup, dyed green for the holiday, highlighting Saturday’s festivities.
Retro Weekend, March 24th & 25th – Get Up! Mountain Run & Get Down! Bike Challenge
Can you tame the mountain or will the mountain tame you? Saturday of Retro Weekend offers the Get Up! Run on Loki (black diamond run) and the Get Down! Bike Challenge – Mountain or Fat Tire, all downhill on Nason’s Trail, snow, slush, mud or all of the above. Registration is $20 for each event. Afterward, the crowd will rock out to The Journey on the outdoor stage at the base of the slopes.
