STEMOSPHERE: A Free Science Based Event Happening at the Grand Rapids Public Museum, November 12th

The Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) welcomes Share Fair Nation’s STEMosphere® event on Saturday, November 12th! STEMosphere® uses innovation and creativity to provide an opportunity for all ages to participate in STEM-oriented interactive exhibits that are hands-on, brains-on adventures.

STEMosphere® will highlight the science, technology, engineering and math fields, and will include dozens of kid-friendly hands-on activities from more than 20 presenters and vendors. Each activity will provide teachers with examples of activities they can bring back to their classrooms.

The panels include “STEM FUN,” in which middle school, high school and college students, along with recent graduates and working professionals talking about why they are choosing or chose STEM jobs; “Dreams Soar” with captain Shaesta Waiz, the first certified civilian female pilot from Afghanistan; and “The Women of STEM” which will include representatives from Dreams Soar, Grand Valley, L-3 Avionics, and General Electric.

STEMosphere: STEMosphere® is one half of an all-day education event. The other half is a free teacher conference called Share Fair Michigan, held just around the corner at Grand Valley State University’s Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids Campus. STEMosphere® and Share Fair Michigan were brought to Grand Rapids through a collaborative effort between GVSU, Grand Rapids Public Schools, and Kent ISD.
