Library Presents Renowned Floral Designer September 29th

In partnership with ArtWalk 2016 September 21st through October 9th, the Loutit District Library will present a discussion on the historic Meadow Brook Hall from professional floral consultant and designer Alice Waterous on Thursday, September 29th.

Waterous will take program attendees on a colorful tour of Meadow Brook Hall, located in the heart of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, where she is the leader of the design team that has decorated it for the holidays for the past ten years.

The 110 room mansion was completed in 1929 by Matilda Dodge Wilson, the widow of automotive magnate John Dodge, and her second husband Alfred Wilson.

Alice Waterous:

Alice Waterous is member of the Michign Floral Association and currently President of the MFA, and on the Michigan Floral Foundation Board of Directors. She is a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, having served in numerous positions for the North Central Regional Chapter of AIFD, as board member and officer.

Waterous is a Michigan Certified Florist, with design work featured in Flora magazine, & numerous articles in the MRA Professional Florist magazine. She has presented design programs and taught classes throughout the country, principally for wholesale florists.

Waterous has presented programs centered around floral design to civic groups and garden clubs also. She is leader of the design team that has decorated Meadowbrook Hall on the campus of Oakland University for the past 10 years.

Loutit District Library is located at 407 Columbus Avenue in Grand Haven, Michigan.
