Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the Second Annual Harbor Springs Brew Festival taking place on Saturday, October 8th, and will feature more than 25 Michigan breweries and over 75 craft beers, including hard ciders. Located along the spectacular waterfront in downtown Harbor Springs, event goers can soak up the beauty of fall with panoramic views of Little Traverse Bay; enjoy live entertainment by the Jelly Roll Blues Band, one of the region’s most popular party bands, and much more!
The making of this event was in response to a need to build out the shoulder seasons around Harbor Springs. “We have a thrilling palette of colors on display along the famous Tunnel of Trees (M-119) during October and this event compliments those desiring to enjoy the spectacular fall colors of the Harbor Springs area.” says Caitlin Donnelly of the Little Traverse Conservancy and event chairperson. “Visitors drawn to the area due to the event and/or the fall colors are treated to an array of thriving businesses and a welcoming year-round community. Not only do we get to show off our great town, but we also get to invite them back as snow flies to enjoy the full splendor of our four seasons.” adds Donnelly.
The inaugural event drew nearly 900 visitors to town and we expect a greater draw this year. Hence, the Chamber of Commerce already has the stage set in anticipation of this. “The event space will include additional tents, onsite restroom facilities, security guards, up to four food purveyors, complimentary water, and much more. These added measures, in addition to cooperation from the City, will guarantee the event to be fun, safe, and beneficial for all in the community” says Daniel DeWindt, Executive Director, Harbor Springs Area Chamber. Furthermore, making this all possible is the tremendous effort of some 50 plus volunteers, who we’d like to thank in advance! Those wishing to get involved may contact the chamber at 526-7999 or email us at email@example.com.
Sponsors of the event also lend resources, branding, and marketability to the Brew Festival. Hence, we are very thankful and look forward to partnering with Petoskey Brewing, as our Premiere Event Sponsor. “Lou Gostinger (co-owner) and his son Tyler have been tremendous in lending their knowledge, guidance, and support to ensure another successful event” says DeWindt.
The festival invites ages 21 and older for a fantastic fall event, as we showcase the great microbrews of Michigan. The Harbor Springs Beer Festival is open from 1 to 5 pm, Saturday, October 8th of Columbus Day Weekend. There’s a $10 cover and guest receive a commemorative glass used for tastings. Tasting tickets are available for $2 each for a four-ounce pour. All tickets are available for purchase at the entrance.
