We’re talking everything from seven-course extravagant meals to more casual dining experiences and everything in-between. Of course, whatever kind of meal you choose will be downright delicious. The Grill House in Allegan is celebrating 18 years of business and they want you (and your taste buds) to be part of the fun! They’ll be hosting an anniversary party on August 12th through the 14th. They’ll have inflatables and games for the kids as well as food and drink specials throughout each day. Help the Grill House celebrate this monumental anniversary later this month!

If you’re feeling extra zealous, you may want to try joining the Lumberjack Club at the Grill House! Choose a 42oz steak, grill it how you like and then eat it within an hour to join the club and receive a free t-shirt! The record time is 5 minutes and 26 seconds to eat this monstrous steak. Come hungry and leave with a full stomach (and possibly a lot of leftovers!)

The Harbor Grand in New Buffalo has their weekly Tuesday Tacos and Summer Mixology every Tuesday this summer. These tacos feature Oaxaca-style chicken tinga, pork al pastor and bistec served on housemade corn tortillas. If that wasn’t enough, pair your tacos with one of their summer inspired, handcrafted cocktails. Tuesdays have never been better at the Harbor Grand!


The City of Hastings has plenty of food for your taste buds to go crazy. Some of your options as you adventure through Hastings are unique appetizers, sandwiches, entrees and wood-fired pizzas. Find what you’re looking for (and the perfect craft beer to go with it) when you visit Hastings this summer!

The South Haven/Van Buren Area has plenty for your taste buds to experience. They have nice farmers markets where you can get fresh produce, baked goods, cheeses and more. Make sure that next time you visit that you have some blueberries! The area is known for their love and passion for the tiny fruit. South Haven/Van Buren County is ready to help you keep it fresh this summer!

Next time you visit Virtue Cider in Fennville, be sure to bring a picnic basket and a blanket! They’ve made it easy to partake in one of life’s greatest pleasures: sharing a meal outdoors. Besides their extensive line of ciders, they now also offer a wide selection of meats, cheeses, and other bites, curated by Culinary Director Missy Corey. Pack a lunch with the family and bring it down to Virtue Cider! We know that you’ll love the time together, the delicious food and the view.

Hungry? No problem! Constantine Brewing Company and the Laughing Leaves Winery in Constantine makes all their food from scratch in their brewery/kitchen. They use locally-sourced, fresh ingredients whenever possible and their menu features spent beer grain pizza, smoked BBQ, pub burgers and more. Don’t forget to have some of their beer or wine with your meal! Eat well with Constantine Brewing Company and the Laughing Leaves Winery!

Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks has their Sunday Brunch at Staymaker, their on-site full service restaurant. Staymaker prides itself in using the most quality ingredients sourced from locals creating beautifully plated dishes with complex culinary details. Pictured below is their Bourbon Belgian Waffle! This is one that you need to experience yourself so stop by and try one of their dishes soon!


Coldwater Country has many locally owned diners, restaurants and pubs for you to check out this summer! Their offerings range from steak to Mexican food to even a root beer stand. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite to eat, a unique dining destination or a gourmet dinner, you won’t have to look hard to find it in Coldwater Country!

Pierce Cedar Creek Institute in Hastings continues their Farm to Table Dinner Series on August 20th. This multi-course dinner highlights local farmers and brewers with commentary on the origin of each dish. They also have their next Sunday Night Dinner on August 14th with buffet-style barbecue dinner and music from Michigan Mafia String Band. Check out one of their foodie events this summer!

Pastrami Joe’s Deli & Take-Out in Battle Creek and Marshall isn’t your run-of-the-mill sandwich shop. They bring their authentic New York-style to all of their sandwiches, salads, wraps, pizzas and platters so you’ll leave full and ready to come back for more the next day. The Marshall Area Economic Development Alliance is ready to tempt your taste buds with some of their picks! The area has tons of great suggestions, but one that sticks out is Dark Horse Brewing Company. They have fantastic beer which can be paired with their delicious artisan pizza or unique sandwiches. If you’re looking to go to an iconic and historic restaurant, check out Schuler’s Restaurant in Marshall! They’ve been serving their delicious food for over 100 years so you know that it has to be good. Visit these or one of the many other restaurants in Marshall!

Do you love blueberries? Well, Corey Lake Orchards in Three Rivers certainly does! You can buy them by the quart at their market or have them in one of their delicious baked goods. Try their blueberry-rhubarb pie, fresh blueberry glazed pie and special zucchini-lemon-blueberry bread. These will tickle your tongue and awaken your tastebuds!

Muskegon County has many mouthwatering culinary excursions for you this summer including SE4SONS Gastropub at Muskegon Country Club where you can get delicious seasonal food and enjoy their wonderful view. Another more unique choice is Bygone Basics at Amanda’s Bequest. Lakeshore Museum Center in Muskegon will host their Taste of History event on August 20th from 10am to 4pm. The event explores how food used to be acquired, prepared and eaten. There will be hands-on demonstrations and opportunities to try some of the food that is prepared. Try for yourself to see how you would fare as a hunter-gatherer! 

The Ludington Area has some delicious food options for you to enjoy. Have a mouthwatering meal of smoked meats or Thai food while you walk through Ludington. Or you could take some time and find that perfect hole-in-the-wall place to have dinner. No matter what you choose, you won’t be going hungry here!

The Hudsonville Area wants to provide you with the freshest local ingredients so that you can cook delicious meals at home. Their farmer’s market has plenty of homegrown produce as well as homemade bread, pasta, kettle corn and more. Make sure to stop by next time you’re cooking for friends or family! They’ll definitely be impressed with whatever you’re making!

Reserve Wine & Food in Grand Rapids has announced their summer menu. New menu items include Pork Crepinette, Duck Breast and Carbonara. Pair your meal with one of over 100 wines available by the glass. The JW Marriott’s restaurant in Grand Rapids uses many local ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes. Their outdoor patio or jdek also has a living wall garden where the chefs grow and use herbs and garnishes from. They change their menu seasonally so make sure to come back every so often to try what’s fresh and new!

The Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids has four restaurants to tempt your taste buds at: Cygnus27, GP Sports, The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Each restaurant excels in their own way by offering different experiences based on what you want to eat and the atmosphere you’re looking for. If you need another reason to visit The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, why not join them for their Founders Beer Dinner and Tap Takeover on August 4th from 4pm to 11pm. Everybody knows Traverse City as America’s Cherry Capital with its National Cherry Festival and abundance of restaurants featuring the fruit. You can have a full meal where everything that you have has cherries as an ingredient. Enjoy Cherry Chicken Salad, Cherry Turkey Sandwich, cherries in your hot oats, cherry pie and even cherries on pizza, sausages, and fish! Can you have a full day of meals that all feature cherries?

Located on Walloon Lake, Hotel Walloon has a wonderful view as well as wonderful food! The Barrel Back has their summer menu out now which features grilled swordfish, seafood linguine and smoked salmon shells. Walloon Lake Inn also has a brand new menu featuring a small plate dishes with six local farms. These are both great options if you’re visiting Hotel Walloon this summer!

Situated on Lake Charlevoix, Charlevoix Country Club knows that you want a view with your meal. That’s why you’ll find that every seat, whether it’s inside or outside, has a great view of the water. They are well known for their Calamari and Ahi Tuna appetizers as well as their Perch with lemon caper white wine butter sauce, char-grilled Salmon with maple mustard glaze and Bistro Steak with blue cheese compound butter. Try one of those mouthwatering signature dishes next time you’re up north!

Whether you are looking for freshly caught fish, specialty foods or locally grown foods, there are great restaurants waiting for you in Charlevoix. Locally caught fish make for the perfect dish while you look out onto the beautiful waters that cover the area. With the area having a bountiful supply of fish, you have to make sure to have at least one of these locally caught meals. Check them out today and explore the possibilities!

Are you ready to eat well in the Bellaire area this summer? The Lakeview Restaurant at Shanty Creek Resorts has a wonderful view as well as innovative regional fare.
