Personally-Identifying Information

It is the policy of WMTA to collect only that personally-identifying information (such as name, U.S. Postal address, e-mail address, telephone number) which visitors to the WMTA Website knowingly and voluntarily provide by completing and e-mailing one of the forms on the Website. WMTA does not collect, save or store such personally-identifying information from our visitors who just browse through our Website without completing and e-mailing any forms. (Also see the section, Member Reservation and Information Forms, later in this policy.)

Publications
If a visitor signs up to order “West Michigan in Print” publications, WMTA will directly provide the requested WMTA publications. The visitor may elect not to receive any other information, but otherwise the visitor’s name, U.S. Postal Service address, e-mail address, areas of interest indicated, and no other information, is collected, referred to WMTA members who can provide additional information about their destinations and services, and archived on the WMTA database, which is made available only to members of WMTA and not referred anywhere else. WMTA’s privacy policy does not apply to the member who receives your information.

In addition to electing not to receive additional information and not to be included in the WMTA database, as provided through the Website, visitors may contact WMTA by any means listed at the beginning of this policy to express their preferences if they later decide not to have any information included in the WMTA database.

Travel Tips
If a visitor signs up to receive a WMTA on-line electronic newsletter such as “Travel Tips,” we will store and use such personally-identifying information as is needed to fulfill the visitor’s request. We do not make this information available to any other business, organization or individual, including our members.

Travel Help
If a visitor requests travel assistance by e-mailing the WMTA travel experts using the “Travel Help” form, WMTA will respond directly and/or refer the inquiry. The visitor may elect not to receive information except from WMTA, but otherwise the visitor’s name, U.S. Postal Service address, e-mail address, and telephone number may be referred to one or more WMTA members that WMTA’s travel experts determine can provide better information. In addition, the visitor’s name, U.S. Postal Service address, e-mail address, and no other information, is collected, referred to WMTA members who can provide additional information about their destinations and services, and archived on the WMTA database, which is made available only to members of WMTA and not referred anywhere else. WMTA’s privacy policy does not apply to the member who receives your information.

Free Get-Away Drawing
We frequently run a drawing or contest on our Website. To enter, a visitor is required to complete and e-mail a form to us. The form may contain a survey as well. The information
from any survey will be stored and used only as aggregate information to help improve the Website for the benefit of visitors and members and to develop new products and services. Personally-identifying information will be used only to contact the visitor when necessary with regard to the drawing or contest that person has entered, and will not be entered into the WMTA database, used by WMTA for any other purpose or made available to any members of WMTA or outside entity.

Member Reservation and Information Forms
The WMTA Website contains member reservation and information forms. If you complete a form to request reservations or information from a WMTA member (hotel, attraction, etc.), the form is directed to the member you selected. WMTA’s privacy policy does not apply to the member that receives your information. If you want information about that member’s privacy policy, please contact them. Also see the section, Links to Other Websites, later in this policy.

Market Place
The WMTA Website contains Market Place, a direct on-line sales function. If you complete an order form for a seller’s products, that form does not go to WMTA but directly to the seller you selected. No information on an order form is collected or retained by WMTA, except if WMTA is the seller, then WMTA collects and stores the information needed to fulfill the order and collect payment. WMTA’s privacy policy does not apply to information you provide directly to any seller other than WMTA. If you want information about that seller’s privacy policy, security, or any other information about the seller or its fulfillment of your order, please contact that seller directly. WMTA makes no promises or warranties of any kind with regard to, and has no responsibility or liability for, the services, products or any other aspect of the sellers from which you might place orders through Market Place.

Telephone Numbers

Telephone numbers will not be provided to any business, organization or individual, including WMTA members, unless the visitor has specifically asked to be contacted by telephone and has not elected to receive information only from WMTA. In this event, the telephone number will be provided only to those specific members that WMTA’s travel experts determine can provide better information. Aggregate Information

We collect and store certain information for statistical purposes, such as the ip addresses of visitors to this Website, to use in periodically reviewing the number of times each page and each ad is viewed on our Website, as well as the types of searches conducted. This process does not store or use personally-identifying information such as name, address, telephone number or e-mail address. The aggregate information is intended to help improve the Website for the benefit of visitors and members and to develop new products and services.

WMTA is committed to respecting the privacy of our members. WMTA members have been provided with membership policies concerning their access to and participation in this Website. Members of WMTA must provide log-in information in order to be connected with the members-only part of the Website. If a member chooses to use on-line member services, additional information may be required from the member.
