Grand Haven, Michigan - A Beautiful Lake Michigan Beachtown!

Grand Haven is a perfect family-fun getaway and an amazing romantic retreat-for-two. This area is an undiscovered jewel positioned right on Lake Michigan and truly has something to offer for everyone!
The Grand Haven beach was recognized as one of the top five beaches in the United States by Good Morning America-Travel Mom. You can enjoy the trolley, a historic downtown shopping district, art galleries, charter fishing, world’s largest musical fountain and a 2.5 mile boardwalk that takes you from downtown to Lake Michigan and the sandy beach. Pack your camera; some of the most fantastic sunsets happen in Grand Haven behind the silhouette of the lighthouse and pier.

Recreational boating and beach visits make Grand Haven and Spring Lake two of the most popular destinations along Lake Michigan. On most summer days, the channel that cuts through downtown Grand Haven is a picture perfect parade of boats. Many land dwellers love to bring blankets or chairs to sit along the boardwalk or on the grassy knolls to observe in this peaceful activity. As a boater, you can head inland through the channel and enjoy Spring Lake; a boater’s paradise! Enjoy quaint bayous, scenic views of waterfront living and tranquil setting that makes you forget about that “to-do list” at home.

When exploring Lake Michigan offshore, head south of Grand Haven and drop anchor at Rosy Mound Park. A beautiful dune preserve with clear blue waters and a boardwalk that twists through the dunescape into a wooded wonderland full of Michigan wildlife. Just north of Grand Haven is PJ Hoffmaster State Park another great stop for exploring the sand dunes and wildlife, in fact, this State Park offers the Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center. This beautiful facility, facing a towering sand dune, is recognized as one of the top attractions in the Midwest.

Although the summer time bodes well for Grand Haven, make no mistake that this is a year ‘round community. In the fall, you can still enjoy great weather with long walks along the beach, color excursions through wooded hiking trails or adventurous bike rides along the 100+ miles of maintained bike paths. For a winter visit you can enjoy x-ski trails, hiking, snowshoeing and even downhill skiing and ice skating at Mulligan's Hollow, located just 4 blocks from downtown Grand Haven. Don't forget, many lodging properties offer fall and winter packages with great rates!
Make the most of your vacation and escape to this unique resort community with loads of harbor town charm year ‘round.
