Holland Area Convention & Visitors Bureau
Our ode to spring begins with our celebrations of Latino and Dutch cultures: Fiesta! and the world-renown Tulip Time. Eight days of spectacular events await you, with parades, dozens of Dutch attractions, a wide variety of entertainment featuring local and national talent, and over six million tulips planted throughout the area. When you’re not attending a festival, you can enjoy Wednesday night sailboat races, and museum and gallery openings.
Strike up the band and party all summer in Holland! With band concerts in Kollen Park, the Street Performers and Summer Concert Series downtown, and our Summer Repertory Theatre at Hope College, Holland will entertain you everywhere you turn.
Too pooped to party? Then avail yourself of a relaxing day at the beach, a cruise on the lake, or a picnic on Windmill Island. Enjoy a meal at many of our restaurants, including some with waterfront dining. And speaking of food, our renowned Farmer’s Market is not only bursting with summer produce, but also features the Chef Series in which local chefs give away their culinary secrets.
Don’t know what to do with the kids? Check out the special summer activities at Dutch Village and the Holland Museum, and don’t forget the fireworks on Independence Day and the Ottawa Country Fair in July. Finish off your summer with Art in the Park and the Vintage Boat Show.
Fall kicks off with the Tulipanes Latino Art and Film Festival, bringing an impressive array of visual and performing arts to downtown. At the Farmer’s Market, the blueberries and gladiolas of summer have turned into the pumpkins and gourds of fall—along with an impressive array of other local produce, meats, cheeses, bakery goods, and organically-grown vegetables.
Stroll the downtown sidewalks during the Gallery Walk, sail the waters of Lake Michigan, or hike the trails in one of our wooded parks. The Haunting at Windmill Island will arrive at Halloween to scare the bejeebers out of you!
In the snowy winter you can stroll our downtown streets with ease—our snowmelt system makes sure snow stays on the trees, rooftops, and hillsides where it belongs. Keep warm inside the Holland Museum as you take in the spectacular collection of 17th, 18th, and 19th century art and furniture in the Dutch Galleries.
You can toboggan down the slope of historic Van Raalte Farm or snowshoe your way around Riley Woods. Head inside for summer-like fun at the Holland Community Aquatic Center. You and the family can enjoy the indoor water playground and 50-meter swimming pool.
Pack your bags, we’ll see you soon!
