Historic Bowen's Mills Bridge

Built: 1982
The covered bridge at Historic Bowen's Mills in Delton is located at to the south of the mill structure. It was designed by the first generation miller, Neal H. Cook and is a quaint scale replica of the covered bridge that crossed the Thornapple River in Middleville years ago. It was built in 1982 out of wood that was donated from the old Middleville Mill that was torn down at the at time.
The awesome beauty of the 17 foot water wheel and the 1864 Grist Mill can be viewed from the bridge and there are huge walnut trees that cast shade on the restful green grass nearby, where visitors relax down by the old mill stream. Because of the serene and tranquil atmosphere, this area is often used for weddings and outdoor family gatherings. The fascinating charm of the covered bridge makes it a popular spot for pictures as well.
The Historic Bowen's Mill is located in the heart of beautiful Yankee Springs, just 2 miles north of Yankee Springs (Gun Lake) State Park. Take US-131 expressway to M-179- Bradley Exit Number 61, east to Briggs Road, then north 1-1/2 mile to the mills entrance. Watch for the Huge Grindstone Marker on Briggs Road.
