Gary Breakwater

The Gary Breakwater Light is a round, faded red, steel tower that is 30-foot tall and sits on a concrete pier at the end of the Gary Harbor breakwater.
The tower tapers near the top where it supports a walkway and lantern room with cross-hatched bar windows.
A Sixth Order lens remains in the lantern, but may only be a backup to the modern plastic lens that has been installed on top of the lantern. The light guides vessels into the giant US Steel Gary Works complex, which also denies access from the shore to the breakwater or light.
The only way to see this light is by private boat, or airplane.
