The adventure begins with a walk to the train depot. Everyone will board the haunted train to experience a ghoulish ride around the mile and half track. The next stop is a walk for the brave to experience the scary haunted trail, where the demons will jump out and the scary monsters have the opportunity to get close. This portion of the adventure is not for the faint at heart. Once through the trail you can return to the train or just walk back to the safety of Turkeyville. In addition, there will be four scheduled hayrides both big weekends and a Family Corn Maze. Hayride times are 1:00, 3:00, 5:00 and 7:00 pm. www.boyne.com or www.AvalancheBay.com The festivities begin Friday evening with face painting; a family classic movie, story time with Avalanche Bay’s adorable mascot Fritz and an outside bonfire complete with that gooey, always delicious treat - s’mores. On Saturday, the fun kicks up a notch with arts and crafts featuring ghosts, goblins and ghouls – oh my – plus, face painting, a wizardly scavenger hunt, hayrides, story time with Fritz, frightening trips through the haunted hallway and an evening bonfire. The face painting, games, and crafts continue on Sunday as does the fun at Avalanche Bay with five waterslides, a shallow kid's pool, lazy river, wet climbing wall, activity pools, hot tubs, massive arcade, the Rip Zone - Michigan's only indoor surf simulator, and so much more! Hoopla activities are happening from 6 PM to 10 PM on Friday, 9 AM to 10 PM on Saturday and 9 AM to 1 PM on Sunday. All events are included with admission, which is $25 for a full day or $19 for a half day from 4 PM till close. As always, children ages two and under are free with a paying adult. A special package is offered that includes lodging and water park passes for a family of four starting at $129 per night – that’s no trick! Or upgrade for convenient second floor access to the aquatic adventures by staying at the luxurious Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa for just $60 more. Be ready for some spooky fun as you search for the treasure chest among the ghosts and ghouls on Pirate Island. Plan on an hour and a half for your search. Come dressed as a pirate or any other character of your choosing. Refreshments available for purchase at the Pirate Party in the Pavilion at the end of the program. Tickets (pirate passes) may be purchased upon arrival at the ticket booth.
Trick or Treat Trail

Family activities include a “Trick or Treat” Trail for kids — bring costumes. Ghosts, goblins and creatures of the night… oh my! On October 27 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., the Air Zoo will host these spooky creatures and even spookier happenings during its second annual Haunted Hangar. All Air Zoo rides and activities within the Main Campus will be open until 9 p.m.; the East Campus will close at 5 p.m. Scheduled activities and events include: Spooky Science Labs, 501st Legion (Star Wars Re-enactors), Costume Contests, Pumpkin Decorating Contest, The Snake Lady, Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary, Trick-or-treat trail, Fortune Teller, a Temporary Tattoo Parlor and more! The Haunted Hangar is included with regular admission (admission charges are $19.50 for adults, $17.50 for seniors 60-plus and $15.50 for children, aged 5–15. Children 4 and under enter free).
