Region 1

Vacations are the time to indulge yourself in cuisne you may not put on your own table at home! Northern Michigan has plenty of restaurants to please any palette. Whether it be fresh Michigan produce from the market or authentic polish cuisine, this region can offer it all.


Charlevoix


Friske Orchards- Friske's Farm Market Fruit stand, cafe, bakery, general store, gift haus, orchard playland, barnyard animals. Apples, cherries, strawberries u-pick. Jams, salsas, butters, cherry juice, honey, dried fruits & much more. Cider mill. Open Mon-Sat 8am-6pm. Closed Sun. A Bushel of Fun!

Staffords Weathervane Restaurant- Originally built as a grist mill, the current Weathervane Restaurant was converted to a dining establishment in the mid 1950's. It was designed by the famed local architect Earl Young, known for his curvaceous roof-lines and flowing architecture. Stafford’s Weathervane Restaurant offers signature and regional cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere and is Charlevoix’s only true waterfront dining, nestled along the busy Pine River Channel in downtown Charlevoix. Guests will enjoy unparalleled views of the water from inside, or choose Jeff’s Deck for the ultimate in outdoor dining. The Weathervane Restaurant is open year-round serving lunch and dinner daily.

Cross Village

Harbor Springs

Pleasantview Vineyards- New northern winery producing eclectic blends of Michigan wines. Red, white & blush wines produced in limited quantity. Summer wine tastings. Affordable, comfortable B&B, Queen beds, private baths, hot tub, sauna, library. Secluded, rural hilltop near golf, skiing, beaches, gaming, unique shops, restaurants.

Stafford’s Pier- A tribute to the maritime heritage of beautiful Harbor Springs, Stafford’s Pier Restaurant offers true waterfront dining, quite literally, as the Pier Restaurant was built on original pilings over the harbor. The Pier’s Pointer Room overlooks the historic yacht basin while offering visitors a superb choice of fine cuisine. The more casual Chart Room provides a relaxed environment with a traditional menu. A local meeting spot, the Wheelhouse Lounge is open daily for cocktails with a complete menu. Dudley ’s Deck is without question the most famous outdoor dining spot in northern Michigan and the place to be each and every Fourth of July. The Pier Restaurant is open year-round serving lunch and dinner daily.


Mackinac Island


JoAnn’s Fudge- Best fudge on the island! JoAnn’s fudge is made with fresh cream and butter in every batch. They also serve handmade candies, taffy, peanut brittle & ice cream.


Mackinaw City


Audies Restaurant- Audie's Restaurant offers fine food & fast, friendly service in Family Room or leisurely dining excelling in regional cuisine in Chippewa Room. AAA double-diamond rating. Pancake Chef- One of the oldest restaurants in Mackinaw City, the Pancake Chef has served traveling families wonderful food since 1964. The favorites include Pumpkin Pancakes, Home-made Potato Pancakes, Specialty salads and Home-made Dinner entries. Region 2

Northern Michigan is not only known for their exceptional wines, but also for their mouth-watering cuisine. With fresh Michigan produce continually in season, northern West Michigan is packed full with farm markets, fruit festivals, and of course some excellent restaurants.

Looking to grab some fresh produce on your northern vacation? Make sure to stop by these markets in Traverse City

Farmer Whites- Season starts with sweet cherries. Some cherry varieties u-pick. Fresh and frozen, pitted sour cherries. Blueberries, raspberries, corn and fresh garden vegetables in late July. Peaches, pears, plums and early apples in Aug. 27 varieties of Fall apples including Gingergold, Honeycrisp and Northern Spy. Dried cherries and cherry concentrate. Fresh daily McColley pies. Open daily July through October.

Groleau’s Farm Market- Eggs, Fruit, Specialty Products, Vegetables, Christmas Trees & Wreaths. Strawberries, cherries, peaches, plums, and apples. Sweet corn, canning tomatoes, and other summer vegetables. Cherry jam, cherry barbecue sauce, dried cherries, cherry concentrate, honey, maple syrup, and cider.

Hoxies Farm Market- Hoxsie's Farm Market is proud to offer their guests the highest quality home grown cherries, apples, pumpkins, squash and fall decorating items.The ovens in the bakery produce a seasonal assortment of pies, breads, donuts and other goodies on a daily basis. The market shelves are filled with northern Michigan's best jams, mustards, salsas, and many local cherry products, as well as Moomer's Ice Cream – the best ice cream in North America.

Region 3

The great outdoors region of West Michigan can also please just about any appetite. From fresh West Michigan produce to homemade ice cream, this region will be able to feed and please the whole family.

Orchard Market- Free Soil- Family-owned, farm-fresh produce, garden center & restaurant, all with homemade goodness. Locations in both Freesoil and Ludington to serve you. Friendly, knowledgeable staff can assist with their many varieties of seasonal fruits & vegetables, homemade sauces, jams & jellies, cheeses & bulk products, & fresh-baked goods from their own bakery.


Nelson’s Farm Market- Grant- Great country farm market with loads of down home hospitality!! More than just a produce market. Nelson's carries animal feed all year round and seasonal items like flowers and garden plants in the spring. They have delicious homemade carmel apples, donuts, and apple cider in the fall, and they always have neat hand crafted gifts to choose from. They have a petting zoo that children never get tired of. Plenty of parking, just off M-37.


Ludington Farmer’s Market- Join the fun on Fridays for Ludington's only Downtown Farmers Market located on the North James Street Plaza. Support the local growers; enjoy music, entertainment, locally produced foods, and artisan works. You can also enjoy Downtown shops and restaurants within seconds of the Market Area.


Cherry Point Farm Market- Shelby


Rennhack Orchard Market- Silver Lake Area- They grow it for you, and do gift baskets, too! This market specializes in local and Michigan made items and gourmet edibles without the gourmet price! Custom gift baskets for personal or corporate use; shipping available.

For a treat the kids will really enjoy, treat them to Jones Homemade Ice Cream in Baldwin or take them to Country Dairy in New Era. Here the kids can go through “Moo School” and learn how dairy products are produced. They can even meet the cows!

Cascade Winery- Grand Rapids- A family-owned winery/brewery that produces award-winning wines. Visit the tasting bar where you can sample reds, whites, fruit wine and mead's (honey wine)or buy a glass of beer. They also offer a wonderful selection of unique gift items and supplies for the home wine and beer maker. Michigan cheeses available.


Clay Avenue Cellars- Musekgon- Clay Avenue Cellars encourages you to visit them and sample their fine variety of Michigan fruit wines. Their wines have received praise from the casual wine drinker to the serious wine connoisseur. Clay Avenue Station is a rescued historic building in the City of Muskegon, built in 1928 and is now restored and houses the cellar winery, plus exhibits and sells artwork for over 30 local artists


Lake Effect Winery- Muskegon- The newest fruit winery on Michigan’s west coast. This winery uses premium Michigan fruits and berries to produce delicious wines, boasting unique flavors.
